Saima Jabeen
Immigration Caseworker
Saima Jabeen is an accomplished immigration lawyer. She has been working in the field of immigration law since 2017 and finds the experience incredibly rewarding.
Background
Saima had the opportunity to shadow advisers across several areas of law during her placement, including criminal, family, property, and immigration. The fact that a successful immigration application can be a life-changing event for a client was truly eye-opening for the fresh law graduate, who then chose to pursue asylum and immigration. And she never looked back.
Experience
Saima specialises in individual and family immigration law. She has worked on many complex cases based on family and private life, exceptional circumstances, and human rights.
In one such case, she represented a client who was trying to bring his son to the UK from Jamaica. The child was nearing his 18th birthday, and there was no one to look after him in Jamaica. The father had previously received a visa refusal for his son. Saima closely worked with the client and was successful in convincing the Home Office about the child’s circumstances using strong supporting evidence. The client was extremely happy and relieved that his son would finally be joining him in the UK.
Apart from being an experienced and empathetic immigration lawyer, Saima is also qualified to teach within post-compulsory education and training. But she admits that she enjoys practising as a lawyer much more than teaching.
